Do you offer emergency eye care services?

Moses Mouser & Associates serves ALL of your eye care needs, especially emergency eye care services. For ocular emergencies, please call our office or use our form to contact us.

How early should I arrive for my appointment?

If you are a new patient, please arrive about 15 minutes early for your appointment. If you are a returning patient, please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment.

My vision is fine, why should I regularly see an eye doctor?

Routine eye exams are the only way to catch silent diseases such as diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts, and other conditions in their early stages when these conditions and diseases can be easily managed or treated.

Do you screen for glaucoma and cataracts?

Yes, we screen for glaucoma and cataracts as part of the thorough eye exam you’ll receive from the eye specialists at Moses-Mouser & Associates. A complete diagnosis of your overall eye health includes several different types of tests that look at various factors related to eye health care including tests that determine inner eye pressure, the shape and color of the optic nerve, your complete field of vision, and the thickness and angle of the eye’s cornea.

These tests help us determine the proper diagnosis and treatment plan that is right for you. Your eyes are often seen as the window into your overall health. Indeed, a thorough eye examination performed on a regular basis by professional optometrists and ophthalmologists can help detect such life-altering conditions as high blood pressure and the onset of diabetes.

I have been wearing eyeglasses for a long time. Can I switch to contact lenses, and are the prescriptions pretty much the same for both?

In some cases, the transition from eyeglasses to contact lenses is a smooth one. However, before that determination can be made, a comprehensive eye examination must be made by a trained and experienced optometrist or ophthalmologist to make certain your eyes can wear contact lenses, and if so, what type of lens is best for you.

Since eyeglasses sit a short distance from the eye, whereas contact lenses sit directly on the eye, the prescriptions can be quite different. One of the experienced eye care specialists with Moses-Mouser can provide a quality examination to determine if there is any eye disease present, what low vision aids are preferable, and what prescription is best for you.
